We continue to improve functionnalities of SocialCompare.com, the site to create and share comparisons. We have just released a new version, and the main changes are:
- Single click edit : you just need to click once on a table cell to make a suggestion or edit it (depending on your rights on the item).
- Live comparison: you are now able to build a new comparison while you explore the site, adding items and criteria you like (clicking on the “green plus balance”) and removing items and criteria you do not want anymore to compare (clicking on the “red minus balance”).
When you add items or criteria to compare, it appears on the left bottom corner side a link to a direct access to your live comparison:
Or you can also access to your live comparison clicking on the balance summary that is on the top right corner of the site:
After clicking on the summary balance, the new comparison appears, you can click on “save as” button to save it as a new comparison reusing these data (so data updated at one place update all the comparisons that contain these data):
- Favorites: you can now save your favorite comparisons or items into your dashboard.
- Drag and drop: to reorganize lines and columns of the table, you can easily do it by using the new drag and drop functionality. The icon appears when you are on a line header or a column header :
Then as an usual drag and drop function, you click on the icon, do not release the mouse button and drag the line where you want. A green line appears to help you to know where the new line will appear. Finally, you just need to release the mouse button in order to drop the line to the new place.
It also works on columns. However some web browsers, don’t display it as nicely as Firefox.
- Rotate option in import step: when you import data from existing files such as excel, csv, openoffice… you can now change the automatic order detection between items and criteria. If the import step did not recognize the table direction, you can easily rotate it.
- Simplify the list of types: we have merged date and date/time types to only one criteria type, that accepts both format and also year only. We also merged text and label types, to make it more simple.
