As we can create collaborative comparisons, tables or lists about everything with SocialCompare, I have decided to create a list today, that could be usefull for all new startups.

Indeed, I have compiled a list of blogs or directories that review startups, web applications, web 2.0 tools…

If you know other interesting ressource, please feel free to complete the list and add it… thanks.

2010 has been an important year for SocialCompare’s project, we have launched the private beta version in March, we have found a nice business angel, we have founded the company in September, and finally we have opened the doors of the platform to everyone with our public beta version in November.

Now, we plan to deliver regularly improvements to the project, and want to build a nice collaborative community to create and share comparisons tables or lists about everything. It is only the beginning of the adventure.

We hope that 2010 has been also a nice year for you, we wish you an Happy New Year 2011 and all the best for your projects, lifes, and mainly for your heatlh..

LeWeb ’10 competition: 16 startups compared !

In the web ecosystem, LeWeb is the first Internet European event (2 days) in Paris that gather a lot of people : 2400 Participants (entrepreneurs, leaders, investors, bloggers, journalists…) from around the world (50 countries).

This year’s theme is platforms. And as each year, there is a startups competition

The selection of the 16 Startups that will compete this year has been done by LeWeb and August Capital, from over 400 applications submitted.

It is time to compare them, give your opinion, rate and vote for the best ones!

While we are currenlty working on the full redesign of SocialCompare, we were trying to find the best solution to manage fonts and display nice fonts for titles or other texts that would be seen similarly on every web browser.

We have discovered a lot of fonts solutions and decided to make a quick comparison. As usual, we did a public comparison that can be edited and commented by everyone, so do not hesitate to improve or complete it.

Before redesigning SocialCompare’s logo, we have compared some websites that propose to organize contests between webdesigners to get several proposals and choose the version we want.

Finally, we did not choose this solution, and we have chosen to work with one webdesigner directly.
